As you are aware, Jebel Ali berthing delays have further aggravated followed with low productivity/slow operations. Most of our vessels are having 3-5 days of port stay including the berthing delay and this is certainly affecting our down line schedule and the ETA’s of subsequent voyages.
These delays in Jebel Ali are beyond our control and we are not able to get back to our normal schedule due to vessel idling and slow operations. Since we are consistently facing these berthing delays, we have our vessels arriving late, sailing out with shutouts, cut and run etc to meet down line schedule and the next port windows.
Please note we will not be able to cover any cost on these delays in terms of port omissions, ground rent, storage, nomination, re-nomination, inter terminal transfer charges etc on account of shutouts, cut and run because it is totally beyond our control. We also wish to advice you that we may change the vessel or reschedule our vessels to reduce the delay to any particular port if it is abnormally affected. We will continue our efforts to maintain the frequencies, schedules in a best possible manner but regret we will not be able to bear any cost on account of JAL berthing delays.
We regret for inconvenience caused.
UNQUOTE: The situation will be long lasting till September end as we understand from the customs and this is mainly due to the renovating process in the expansion programs in Jebel Ali Port Terminal as I come to know from reliable sources.
